"I'm waiting for something to lean on, or something to take me away. I'm waiting ten years away, will it still be the same? Endless rain come wash away the pain of ordinary days, breathe in the sweet dreams." - Endless Rain

"Just a feeling that something is off tonight, I can't seem to figure it out, say 'everything's fine', then shut your eyes as hard as you can. I try so hard to open up to you. Why are words so hard to pronounce tonight?" - In Between Heartbeats

Bisous.

You probably know that I often praise the Swedish hardcore and metal scenes (and even a bit of the local shoegaze scene), I always find amazing bands full of inventiveness, singularity and power in this scene, where famous bands like Cult Of Luna, Refused or Masshysteri were born. And this dedication isn't about to stop... This record is the new main reason. Ladies and gentlemen, here is the key record of the swedish skramz mafia, the supreme message of humanity, the final act of the current level of life and the bridge to the next level: the 12" split between Suis La Lune and Shirokuma.

How to objectively describe this album, long-awaited by emokids of this world, whose 100 cream / blue and cherry splatter copies have been sold out in less than a day and which one of them will end up in some days in my mailbox? On one side, there's simply the very best of what Shirokuma have done so far, some breathtaking and stunning tracks. On the other, we have one of the cult screamo references of the last 10 years, Suis La Lune, which delivers a sound that still disillusioned, snowy, crystalline, kinda shoegazey, and which allows himself, without any pressure, to place an 8-minute epic piece, "In Between Heartbeats", in the middle of this already fabulous whole. This record is a firework of emotions, riffs and screams full of beauty, fragility, it's just fabulous. All backed by a rhythm section that, for each group, is put to the test. In the end, you come out with glassy eyes, the soul probably troubled by so many emotions. That's a lot of compliments certainly, but honestly, I haven't found any bad things to this split.

For anyone sensitive to the current screamo scene, it's impossible to remain indifferent to these 9 euphoric songs. OK, it's true that Suis La Lune repeat their well-known formula a bit, and so we like it too easily. But the swedish dudes always find THE melody, THE gang vocals, THE riff that touch the heart every damn time and make the small difference. And Shirokuma simply released something wonderful, pacing slightly darker trails like in "Lost Contact", consolidating their style of composition, affirming the appearance as clear as rough of guitar riffs, and Jonathan is more passionate than ever in his singing. In short : get this split now, you will know the truth about this world, you will live 15 lives, you will have access to the rarest memes of our world, wow!
