RADURA / FLOWERS&SHELTERS 7"

J'aurais dû écouter ça dès que c'est sorti et faire confiance à une pote qui est ultra fan d'un des groupes présents sur ce split. Avec ce disque, on a affaire à deux chouettes formations jouant un screamo très mélodique et inspiré, ce qui est de toute façon très souvent le cas en Italie, là d'où viennent les deux groupes. (j'en profite pour faire un rappel crucial : allez écouter MARCOVALDO !)

RADURA, dont l'un des membres m'a écrit pour que je parle de ce split (un gros bisou à MILES OLIVER qui lui a parlé de mon blog pendant sa tournée où il l'a rencontré en tant que bassiste de ØJNE !) reste fidèle à ce qu'il sait très bien faire depuis La Fine degli Uomini Faro, leur premier album : une musique délicate, chaleureuse mais puissante, avec beaucoup de beaux riffs, ça me fait penser à la scène écossaise (notamment CARSON WELLS et KADDISH), et mes amours pour toujours que sont BASTOS... À chaque fois que j'écoute leurs 2 morceaux, ne serait-ce que le riff d'intro de "L'Anno delle Rondini", j'ai des frissons qui m'envahissent. Bah hey, c'est exactement ce qui me fait vibrer, ce qu'ils jouent, je vais pas m'en priver !

FLOWERS&SHELTERS me rappellent pas mal ce qui se fait en Suède, chez DISEMBARKED ou SHIROKUMA entre autres, et ça, vous savez très bien je n'y résiste pas... Un son un peu plus percutant que celui de RADURA, moins dans la progression et la déclamation, mais ça reste super mélodique et agréable. Curieusement, "Volubile" me rappelle quelques sonorités que je retrouve chez CHILD MEADOW. Ce serait cool que le groupe soit au courant de leur existence et s'en soit inspiré, héhé ! Et je pense que la seconde partie de "Lividi" donnera des frissons aux fans de ØJNE.

Allez, je vous laisse découvrir ces morceaux qui nous montrent joliment comment évolue la scène emo italienne : plutôt dans la droite lignée de tout ces chouettes groupes qui l'a consolidée et lui a donné ses signes distinctifs, tels que RAEIN ou LA QUIETE, mais sans en être des copies faciles et apporter leur petite touche.

I should have listened to it as soon as it came out and trust a friend who is very into one of the bands present on this split. With this record, we're dealing with two great formations playing a very melodic and inspired screamo, which is very often the case in Italy, where the two bands come from. (I take this opportunity to make a crucial reminder: please listen to MARCOVALDO!)

one of the RADURA members wrote to me about this split (a big s/o to MILES OLIVER who told him about my blog during his tour where he met him as a bass player of ØJNE!), and I thank him a lot for that. Their 2 songs are close to what they do very well since La Fine degli Uomini Faro, their first album: a delicate, warm but powerful music with many beautiful riffs, it makes me think of the Scottish scene (including CARSON WELLS and KADDISH), and the incredible BASTOS ... Whenever I listen to their 2 tracks, and even only the intro riff of "Anno delle Rondini", I have chills.

FLOWERS&SHELTERS remind me pretty much what is done in Sweden, by DISEMBARKED or SHIROKUMA among others, and if you read often that blog, you know very well that I can't resist to swedish skramz... Their sound is a bit more direct than that of RADURA, less in progressions and declamation, but it's still super melodic and enjoyable. Curiously, "Volubile" reminds me of some CHILD MEADOW. It would be cool for the band to know about their existence and be inspired by them, hehe! And I think the second part of "Lividi" will give chills to ØJNE fans.

Enough words: I'll let you discover these 4 beautiful songs that show us beautifully how evolves the Italian emo scene: rather in the right line of all these cool groups that consolidated and gave her his distinctive signs, such as RAEIN or LA QUIETE, but without being easy copies and bringing their own touch.
